Plates, dishes, soup bowls, teapots and ewers …. Just a few of the 250 objects on show, retracing the history of earthenware in and around Apt since the 18th century, a production which was helped due to the large abundance of clay and terracotta in the region. The reconstruction of a pottery workshop allows us to understand their work in the past and today.
The museum also contains an exhibition devoted to ochre, from its extraction to marketing.
One must not forget that Apt is the world capital of candied fruit. The museum is also installed in the former Marliagues factory where you can discover the factory hardware as well as a striking collection of labels and packaging of candied fruits.
